Film Description

As police detective Anna closes in on a deranged serial rapist and killer she falls victim to her own weakness, 'The Stendhal Syndrome', a condition that overwhelms her with hallucinations whenever confronted by great works of art. Dario Argento returned to the giallo format with this psycho-thriller starring his daughter, Asia. Delirious visuals, an undercurrent of nasty violence and a rousing score make it a fairly characteristic work, but it never quite reaches the heights of Suspiria or Deep Red, despite the frenetic pace of its first half.
