Film Description

Jonathan Miller directed this excellent adaptation of Shakespeare's play with John Cleese taking the role of Kate-tamer Petruchio. This comic confrontation between the sexes is rich with sparkling wit and characterisation, and was also admired for Miller's fidelity to Elizabethan social customs.
