Brooks stars as Mel Funn, a washed-up director who comes up with the idea of making a silent movie forty years after they went out of fashion. Packed with sight gags, the film evokes the days of Chaplin, Keaton and Fairbanks while remaining oddly contemporary. One of Brooks's best, if overlooked, films.
