A bizarre and scabrously black comedy of murder and intrigue. It's almost Pythonesque in its straight-faced absurdities; murder becomes a minor social faux pas, and betrayal is greeted with a knowing shrug, but no matter how baffled one may become, there is comfort in seeing those on screen even more perplexed. And Carole Bouquet scores as probably the most amenable femme fatale the screen has ever seen.
