Film Description

A lavishly produced muscial about a night-club dancer from Brooklyn who leaves her sweetheart after winning a cover girl contest, only to learn that fame and fortune are no substitute for true love. Regarded as a major turning point in the Hollywood musical, because for the first time songs were used to drive the story, not just as garnish.
