Film Description

A much-celebrated 'comedy of arias' from Fellini. It's set in 1914 aboard a luxury liner full of statesmen, opera singers, aristocrats and a rhinoceros, and sailing from Naples to an island where the ashes of the world's greatest soprano are to be scattered. Their gilded world is about to receive a chill blast of reality as an enemy battleship looms on the horizon. Yet, the ship sails on. A comic and moving evocation of an era coloured by the advance of World War One.
