Filmed on location in Venice, this is Hallstrom's adaptation of the life of Casanova, who for the first time in his life is about to meet his match with alluring Venetian beauty, Francesca, who does the one thing he had never thought possible: refuse him. Through a series of clever disguises and scheming ruses, he manages to get ever closer to her.
