Film Description

Hywel Bennett plays James Shelley, a graduate on the dole, and just one more unemployment statistic. He lives with his girlfriend Fran, sharing a room in Mrs Hawkins' boarding house, with his daily occupation being bed, the pub and the DHSS. Even though his often profound views on everyday life were rooted in laziness, Shelley struck a chord with viewers, with his sardonic nature coping with everything life sent his way.
