An exploration of the remarkable relationship between Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo, as the struggling painter fights to make his mark in the world of art. In the last ten years of his life he produced more than 2,000 works, though only sold one painting in his lifetime. His brother, Theo, was Vincent's only real friend and provided the moral and financial support which

made these paintings possible. Skilfully avoiding tired cliches, Altman presents both characters as complex individuals.
