Film Description

A sumptuous recreation of the theatres and rooms of 1930s London is the setting for this tale of theatrical come-uppance adapted from the W Somerset Maugham novella 'Theatre'. Bening plays Julia, the actress on the cusp of middle age who takes a younger lover. She is being deceived on all sides though and when her beau campaigns for a part in her latest play for his own lover she surprisingly consents. What can she be thinking?
