Film Description

Writer-director Asante's debut feature has earned her comparisons with the work of Ken Loach and Mike Leigh. The film is a powerful modern-day tragedy set in South Wales centred around a teenage mother and her three friends who are looking for escape, love and identity. It takes a long, hard look at the social and economic inequalities as well as the tensions of a multi-cultural society.
