We live in the most recorded and televised period that history has known. Only the most naive however would venture that this has brought us closer to any kind of objective veracity in reportage. Footage that is finally broadcast is highly mediated in ways that go far beyond obvious editing. It is this area of how stories are chosen and presented through the media that Chomsky addresses in this accessible and stimulating investigation.
