Film Description

A quirky, bittersweet drama about the relationship that develops between travelling Irish dentist Fergus O'Connell (Daniel Day Lewis) and Estella, a young woman (Mirjana Jokovic) who is looking for escape from her upcoming marriage.

Stowing away in the sidecar of Fergus’s motorcycle, Estella is initially an unwelcome presence - especially as Fergus is married himself. Their travels together through the vast flat landscapes of Patagonia see them encountering unexpected troubles - until Fergus sees his licence to practice dentistry taken away and he further ruins things by embarking on another affair under Estella's nose. When she leaves him, Fergus soon realises that he has made a mistake and begins a journey to win her back.
