Overshadowed by a magnificent 20 minute battle scene (Saving Private Ryan) but make no mistake, The Thin Red Line is the true film here. One of if not the greatest war film ever made. Have some patience, leave your blood thirst at the door and watch a film that elevates the war genre and filmmakeing into the realm only touched by the likes of Apacolypse Now, Full Metal Jacket. Don't pass this movie up, it is the reason films are made. < less
