Dr Mabuse: The Gambler
Film Description A chilling chronicle of an evil mastermind plotting to destabilize a Germany still reeling from W.W.I was clearly a metaphor for the corrupt soul of the Weimar Republic. Mabuse's genius is to strike at the heart of the institutions that Hitler later exploited with money, power and influence. Brilliantly directed and visualised by a film maker at the very summit of his early career.
