Film Description

Jack Nicholson plays the menacing drifter who shacks up with his employer's frustrated young wife. Murder is their next step but events go awry with many unexpected twists (some violent) and a bitter ending. Sometimes unfavourably compared with Garnett's 1946 version, Rafelson's film is grittier and far truer to life.
